Matahom Paradise Villas: Glam Beach Staycation

Timeless elegance in a relaxing setting on the beach is what we deserve. It has been a tradition for me and my hubby to celebrate our anniversaries out of town but since it’s still pandemic and I still have this fear of going to other places outside Cebu, my hubby and I both agreed to celebrate our 8th wedding anniversary somewhere with exclusive access to the beach. I came across this beach villa called Matahom Paradise Villas in Medellin, Cebu about 3-hour drive from the city and it was a perfect place for the whole family to enjoy. The word ‘matahom” is a Cebuano dialect that means beautiful. My best friend also wanted to celebrate her birthday so we decided to celebrate it together and invited some of our closest friends with us. We booked their Glass House villa which can accommodate 8 persons and their ocean view villa which can accommodate 5 persons. The ocean view villa has its own infinity pool facing the beach.

We were so lucky that time because there were no other guests so we have the entire place for us.

I was quite amazed at the interiors of the two villas, they have this Bali-inspired style and what I like most of it was their outdoor style bathroom. For the Glass House, I love the homey vibe. It comes with a master bedroom with a king-sized be, a dining area, a mini-kitchen but it’s not fully furnished though, it has its own mini living area and there’s a mezzanine that can accommodate 6 people. The Glass House has a balcony where the family can really hang out. The other villa which is the ocean view villa can accommodate 5 people. It has 2 big rooms and they have their own exclusive infinity pool.

The view from the beachfront room was gorgeous especially watching the sunset. The resort had a wide stretch of white sand beach and you can see a lot of boats and some fishermen selling their freshly caught fish.

We had our dinner sponsored by my best friend for celebrating her birthday and we have it served at the Glass House. We ordered their boodle setup which comes with a variety of seafood, pork, chicken, and fruits.

The Glass House is the perfect place for an intimate get-together with friends and family.

After dinner, we decided to have a bonfire, got ourselves some wine and a lot of chitchats. It was a night full of fun.

The next day, we had our breakfast at their restaurant and have Acai bowls served in their floating tray.

We get the most out of our stay in the resort and took a lot of photos with us. The kids and our husbands thoroughly enjoyed the pool and the beach. Their check-out time is 11:00 AM and beyond that, they will give extra charges.

For the place itself, I would say they have one of the gorgeous beach villas in the northern part of Cebu. The food was wonderful, from preparation to presentation although they served it a bit late. We weren’t able to enjoy their special bar drinks because unfortunately, the staff in charge was not available that time but their Acai bowls are a must-try. As for the rooms, I appreciate that they provided each villa with a water dispenser. I only wish they provided the kitchen in the Glass House with microwaves, a mini-fridge, and provide glasses for the water as well as cups for coffee. For their customer service, the owner was very kind and accommodating to us however some of the staff need more training when it comes to handling guests but we understand since they just recently opened the resort.

Overall, I really can’t complain because we really had a wonderful stay. We look forward to visiting the place and probably trying their Garden Villa as well.
